Earlier this year I accomplished two MAJOR professionals goals. You could say they were bucket list goals and quite honestly BIG dreams fulfilled.
The first goal was to direct/produce a film. I am someone who loves documentary films and especially those related to women + sports. It is one thing to tell a story in writing, but it is another to capture the story on film.
I am proud to say that On The Mat, which is a short film that explores the power and strength of women’s wrestling. It examines how top-ranked female wrestlers advocate for the growth of women’s participation in a primarily male dominated sport.
I was so honored to meet Adeline Gray and Iris Smith who let me follow their journeys from training to Olympic stage.
Secondly, I am thrilled to share that On The Mat was featured on espnW. It has always been a goal of mine to work with the worldwide leader in sports, and I am beyond grateful that my film has a home within espnW’s video + films section.
I can’t wait to work on my next project. There are a few ideas rolling around in my head and I am so excited to launch my next women + sports film.
